Elliot’s love of design began early, nurtured by a family that valued creativity and hands-on involvement.
His father, an engineer, instilled an appreciation for precision and detail, while his mother and grandmother’s passion for interiors introduced him to a world full of colour, texture, and timeless beauty. He spent much of his childhood surrounded by paint samples, fabric swatches, and treasured antiques, all of which sparked his imagination.
Starting out in furniture design, Elliot focused on creating pieces where form and function came together effortlessly. In 2008, he set up his own studio, sharpening his eye for detail and a commitment to quality that still defines his work today. By 2012, his vision had grown, and alongside his business partner Tom Ryan, they expanded the business into a full interior architecture and design studio.
Tom brought a background in finance and a growing appreciation for the way design shapes how we live. His global experience and strategic focus complemented Elliot’s creative vision, giving the studio a strong and balanced foundation. Their complementary strengths continue to define Elliot James Interiors - blending creativity with precision to craft spaces rooted in a deep love of materials, textures, and the subtle details that make a place truly feel individual.
